Piers Sadler MSc CGeol

Piers Sadler Consulting is a Bristol based company formed in 2010 by Piers Sadler.  Piers is a building scientist, building energy consultant and Certified Passivhaus Designer with an MSc in Sustainable Building (Distinction, Oxford Brookes, 2010).

Piers is passionate about improving building performance through better design, construction and operation, taking a fabric first approach wherever possible.  He enjoys collaborating with architects and engineers and a range of associates to develop and implement low energy building and services designs for residential new build and refurbishment and specialist and small commercial/industrial buildings.   Passivhaus design principles together with sound building science inform all his work.  Piers is currently working on two Passivhaus projects and uses PHPP as a design tool to test ideas and inform cost benefit assessments across a range of other schemes.

Piers is heavily involved in the local energy 'scene' as a member of Bristol Green Capital Place Group, Bristol Energy Network and the Green Register and a supporter of Bristol Green Doors; through these local and grassroots organisations he aims to understand and influence policy and raise awareness of building energy issues.  In 2015 Piers organised a Passivhaus conference in Bristol as part of Bristol Green Capital 2015.

Piers is also a highly respected hydrogeologist with a wealth of experience in wide ranging aspects of the discipline.  He provides input to projects at all levels including strategic advice and expert witness services in hydrogeology.

Previously Piers worked for a variety of international engineering and environmental consultancies including Mouchel (2000-2010).
